Sustainable practices include:
Organic, local, fair/direct trade, biodynamic products.
Building sustainability: Organic, Non VOC lime paint, eco/food-grade surface finishing on furniture, floors, ceiling beams, and counters, repurposed antique wood & bricks throughout, Italian artisanal fixtures and handmade Italian tiles, antique furniture and finishings.
Renewable energy and/or energy conservation: LED lighting, energy star appliances, building insulation including double paned windows.
Water conservation: Low flow sinks, showers, and toilets. Advanced cleaning process minimizes water usage.
Waste reduction management: Composting, recycling, no single use items.
Natural fibers used throughout including linen bedding and towels and organic cotton sheets, hemp rugs, and linen curtains.
Eco-friendly cleaning and paper products.

Borgo di Sotto is a medieval three story ‘townhome’ with three spacious rooms on three floors. Furnished with Nonna-sewn linens, repurposed vintage wood, bricks, and tile, warm Edison lighting and artisanal features.
Book La Casa for up to 8 guests or the upstairs and downstairs may be booked as separate private accommodations. La Segreta sleeps up to 2 and La Vedetta sleeps up to 6 guests.
Nested between Pienza and Montepulciano, Montefollonico is off the beaten path, on a hilltop, with a population of just 500 in the village. Your host Niccolo is a fourth generation ‘Montefollonican’ and Borgo di Sotto has been a family-owned treasure for over a century.
